After publishing the final Luke and Jenny book in 2010, Gayle Martin wanted to write for adult readers. However, she had built her brand as a children’s book author, and her new books wouldn’t be suitable for younger readers. So, she created the pen name, Marina Martindale. Her first Marina Martindale novel, The Reunion, was published in 2011. Since that time she written five other Marina Martindale novels, and is currently working on novel number six.
